
2023 Intern Position
We are looking for one to two interns on our small, sustainable vegetable farm in Northern KY. The ideal candidates for these positions:

As an intern on our farm you will learn the in’s and out’s of growing excellent produce for the direct market (we sell through our Community Supported Agriculture program and at three farmers’ markets) on a less than 2 acres with appropriate tools and technology.
Interns will learn all of the basics needed to run a market garden:
-Seeding -Bed preparation
-Transplanting -Installing irrigation, row covers, landscape fabric
-Weeding -Harvesting
-Working Farmers Market -Training on our 2-wheel tractor

Pay: $12 per hour starting

Experience: You will gain valuable hands-on experience in the day-to-day operation of a diversified vegetable farm in your local community. Planning, organizational skills, efficiency and hard work are crucial to the success of our operation. These skills will serve you well in any future endeavor. If you are interested in a career in market farming, a season or two of hands-on experience will be invaluable in helping you decide if this is the right path for you.
Hours:
We are looking for interns that are available to work from early May through mid-September, although we'll consider college students who go back to school in mid-August. Ideally, we would like you to work about 2-4 days per week, from 8:30am – 5pm, with Mondays and Wednesdays being most important. Let us know which days you’d prefer when you apply. We take a half hour lunch each day and on Wednesdays we all eat a meal prepared by Anna. Other days you can bring your own lunch.
Our Experience:
Anna has been producing vegetables for CSA for the past 10 years. We plan to sell our produce through 80 CSA shares and at the Independence and Ft. Thomas Farmers’ Market. Anna, along with a couple other experienced farm employees will be training you and working with you on a daily basis.
