2020 Intern Position
We are looking for two interns on our small, sustainable vegetable farm in Northern KY. The ideal candidates for these positions:
are enthusiastic about sustainable agriculture and interested in farming

want more than just a job, want to work at something meaningful!
As an intern on our farm you will learn the in’s and out’s of growing excellent produce for the direct market (we sell through our Community Supported Agriculture program and at three farmers’ markets) on a less than 2 acres with appropriate tools and technology.
Interns will learn all of the basics needed to run a market garden:
-Seeding -Bed preparation
-Transplanting -Installing irrigation, row covers, landscape fabric
-Working Farmers Market -Training on our 2-wheel tractor
Benefits and Compensation:
Pay: $420 stipend paid twice monthly

Experience: You will gain valuable hands-on experience in the day-to-day operation of a diversified vegetable farm in your local community. Planning, organizational skills, efficiency and hard work are crucial to the success of our operation. These skills will serve you well in any future endeavor. If you are interested in a career in market farming, a season or two of hands-on experience will be invaluable in helping you decide if this is the right path for you.
We are looking for interns that are available to work from early May through August. Ideally, we would like you to work about 24 hrs/wk, from 8:30am – 5pm on either Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Let us know which schedule you’d prefer when you apply. We take a half hour lunch each day and on Wednesdays we all eat a meal prepared by Anna. Other days you can bring your own lunch.
Anna has been producing vegetables for CSA for the past 7 years and Cole is an apprentice on the farm who will be in his 2nd season in 2020. We plan to sell our produce through 60+ CSA shares, the Independence and Ft. Thomas Farmers’ Market, and the Ohio Valley Food Connection. Anna and Cole will be training you and working with you on a daily basis.
